Resident Conductor Christopher Dragon leads a lively performance brimming with music as a celebration of humanity. Rossini’s Overture from William Tell features one of the most famous musical passages of all time, while dancers from Wonderbound perform onstage as your Colorado Symphony presents excerpts from Beethoven’s Creatures of Prometheus. Schumann’s Symphony No. 1, dubbed “Spring,” conjures up the longing for new growth and renewal. For Schumann, spring was a feeling, a rapturous optimism, a lust for life, writing, “I wrote the symphony in that rush of spring which carries a man away even in his old age, and comes over him anew every year” – a fi tting fi nale to an enrapturing performance of song and dance.
